The York Parents’ Association

You and your family have joined an engaged, active, and caring community that promotes the development of the whole student.

The York School Parents’ Association (YPA) plays a large part in contributing to this vibrant community. The YPA is a volunteer organization that conducts events that increase school spirit and camaraderie. The YPA also encourages volunteerism and raises funds to support the school. All parents and guardians of current students are automatically members of the YPA.

Some of the events organized by the YPA include:

  • Pancake Breakfasts

  • Preloved Uniform Sale

  • Student Events

  • Teacher and Staff appreciation events

  • Social gatherings and so much more

There are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the year, so please consider getting involved! From being a Class Parent to helping at the YPA Halloween Party at the Junior School, it is fun, rewarding, and a great opportunity to meet and get to know other parents in our community.

Full information about the YPA, who we are, what we do, and how you can get involved, is available on the school intranet YorkNet. Simply sign in and click on the YPA button.

While dates are still being confirmed some of the YPA Parent Connects events (independently organized by parents for parents) being planned for Fall 2024 are:

  • Monthly Coffee Socials

  • Book Club

  • Wine Tastings

  • So much more!

Also, the YPA has a dedicated section in the weekly York School newsletter The Flash for Parent events and other related initiatives.

The strength of our home/school partnership provides a safe place for our children to learn, play and thrive. The active participation of our community through the YPA is a linking pin in this shared objective. And as you get to know the school, you’ll learn it’s fun too!
